Noted Duke fan Trevor Bauer takes ribbing from Cleveland Indians teammates after Blue Devils’ loss to UNC

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Trevor Bauer’s teammates are not previously mentioned trolling just one of their very own when it comes to college basketball’s finest rivalry.

A day right after Duke basketball star Zion Williamson experienced a freak personal injury early in Wednesday’s 88-72 loss to North Carolina, Bauer’s buddies adorned his locker in the Tribe’s spring coaching clubhouse with “get properly soon” balloons.

Bauer, who is not shy about his devotion to Duke, appeared to take care of the ribbing with aplomb, posing for shots close to the decorations together with teammate Carlos Santana.

“Congrats on the L,” Indians pitcher Mike Clevinger wrote as he shared the photo on his Instagram story.

Bauer has savored his share of wins in the rivalry, teasing former teammate and UNC alum Andrew Miller by hanging a jersey close to the celebrity reliever’s locker again in 2017.

In a latest interview with Sports activities Illustrated, Bauer discovered that he’s stuck by the Blue Devils even in the experience of a college basketball titan. As SI’s Ben Reiter in depth:

“On his recruiting journey to UCLA, he wore a hat bearing the emblem of his favourite college basketball workforce: Duke. The Bruins’ hoops mentor, Ben Howland, fulfilled the baseball recruits and shook their fingers, but pulled his hand absent when he observed Bauer. “You’re going to have to acquire off that hat,” Howland reported.

Did he? “No, of course not.”
