
By the time the Indians’ brain trust touches down in less than two weeks at the slot machine haven known as McCarran International Airport, Chris Antonetti will have initiated a dialogue with every opposing executive who has a pulse.
A few tenets of the Indians’ offseason:
1. The organization’s decision-makers know the roster must improve.
2. Without much cushion in the payroll, trade(s) is/are the most logical route of roster augmentation.
3. The ideal scenario would involve shedding a high-priced, low-contributing veteran or two.
4. A potentially realistic scenario would involve dealing from the team’s strength (rotation) to address the team’s weaknesses (outfield, bullpen, overall depth).
We’ve covered much of this in various articles, Diamond Dialogue entries, episodes of the Selby Is Godcast and while talking to ourselves in our sleep. But, TJ, it’s time we give the people what they want.
