CLEVELAND, Ohio — Righty Justin Grimm has signed a minor-league deal with the Cleveland Indians with a non-roster invitation to spring training, the club announced Thursday.
Grimm, 30, split time between Kansas City and Seattle in 2018. In 306 career big-league appearances, Grimm holds a 20-23 record with a 4.98 ERA and 361 strikeouts in 356 innings.
Grimm was a fifth-round pick of the Texas Rangers in 2010 and spent the majority of his big-league career with the Chicago Cubs, including 68 appearances during the 2016 season.
With the addition of Grimm, the Indians now have five non-roster pitchers that are lined up for invitations to spring training next month, including Shao-Ching Chiang (RHP), James Hoyt (RHP), R.C. Orlan (LHP) and Josh Smith (LHP).
