Friday’s non-tender deadline came and went for the Braves without excitement. The team reached an agreement with reliever Jonny Venters on a non-guaranteed deal and then tendered contracts to the rest of its arbitration eligible players including outfielder Adam Duvall and Arodys Vizcaino.

The free agent pool grew considerably as teams paired down their 40-man rosters prior to Friday’s non-tender deadline. Notable players such as Billy Hamilton, Jonathan Schoop and Avisail Garcia head the list.
The Indians have reportedly been shopping part of their starting rotation but are discussing a contract extension with right-hander Carlos Carrasco according to a report by The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal. If a deal is reached, that would effectively take Carrasco off the trade market leaving Corey Kluber and Trevor Bauer as their most likely trade chips.
The Phillies are expected to make big moves eventually and reportedly have their eye on Mariners shortstop Jean Segura.
