The five most likely destinations for Cleveland Indians free agent Michael Brantley, a player who didn’t receive a qualifying offer from the Tribe.

No, the Cleveland Indians aren’t one of the five teams on this list to sign free agent Michael Brantley.

Dr. Smooth will take his practice elsewhere, to the consternation of Tribe fans.

It’s still a little surprising that the Indians didn’t offer Brantley the $17.9 million qualifying offer. I’m of the opinion that he would’ve rejected it, as this is might be his last chance to collect an eight-figure, multi-year deal.

Cleveland.com Paul Hoynes’ disagrees though. The longtime scribe recently wrote that the Indians thought there was a chance Brantley would accept the offer, which is why it was never made.

Geesh, how terrible would it be to give a guy who consistently produces the $6 million raise. He hits. He’s an All-Star. And guess what? The Indians need outfielders! I would’ve thought about cutting the fat elsewhere, as was the case when the Tribe said “No thanks” to Brandon Guyer‘s $3 million option.

Now the Indians head into 2019, and pending a trade, they’ll be trotting out Jason Kipnis, Leonys Martin, Greg Allen and Tyler Naquin (plus Bradley Zimmer when healthy), unless of course the front office swings a deal.

Meanwhile, Brantley will end up else where, and he enters a hot stove already eager to warm up to the All-Star.

Here’s five destinations where Brantley will likely end up.
